Programs and help
State Veterans’ Service Officers help with state and federal veterans claims; county officers are another local route.
Veterans and eligible family members seeking help. Every underlying benefit has its own requirements.
Official county directory for free assistance with benefits, entitlements and referrals.
Choose the county where you live or contact the office to confirm its service area; ZIP centroids do not establish county residence.
Waives the out-of-state portion of tuition and fees at Florida public postsecondary institutions.
Honorably discharged veterans must reside in Florida and attend an eligible public institution. Qualifying spouses and dependents residing in Florida and using GI Bill benefits have a separate route. This is not a waiver of every tuition charge.
Scholarship support at eligible Florida postsecondary institutions; FDVA certifies the veteran and OSFA determines the student award.
Qualifying service-connected death or 100% service-connected permanent and total disability, student relationship, residency and school/program conditions apply. Check the current academic-year requirements.
Official forms for homestead exemptions and the older combat-disabled veteran tax discount.
Each exemption has separate ownership, residency and disability rules. DR-501DV requires age 65 or older, honorable discharge, permanent combat-related disability and residence in the homestead; survivor rules differ. A rating alone does not qualify every property.
State-operated skilled nursing and assisted-living homes with facility-specific admissions contacts.
Published basic conditions include honorable discharge, Florida residency and certified care need. Eligible spouses may have a separate admission route; available space and clinical review still matter.
State workforce contacts connect veterans and eligible families to résumé support, job referrals and training.
Priority and specialist services depend on the workforce program; listing does not establish a job placement or training award.
Selected resources, not an exhaustive benefits catalog. Listed requirements are a summary; the administering agency determines eligibility.
