Education and career counseling (Chapter 36)
Personalized Career Planning and Guidance (PCPG), also called VA Chapter 36, offers educational and career counseling under its own eligibility rules. It is separate from VR&E and from a local job search.
Example
Fictional example: Jordan wants to explore rehabilitation and employment support related to a service-connected disability and reads about a VR&E counselor’s evaluation. Sam wants help choosing an education or career direction and reads the separate Chapter 36 counseling requirements. They are looking for different services; career counseling is not a required stage before every VR&E application or job search.
