Temporomandibular disorders (TMD)
The TMD questionnaire records jaw movement, pain and functional limits, repeated-use and flare-up findings, and dietary restrictions. These findings relate to the TMD criteria in diagnostic code 9905.
TMJ refers to the jaw joint; TMD refers to disorders affecting the joint or related structures. A jaw symptom or bruxism alone does not establish TMD.
